Jim Gift is an award winning nature photographer specializing in wildlife and landscape photography. He spent the first 28 years of his professional career as an environmental consultant drawing on an undergraduate degree in biology and two graduate degrees in environmental science. His love of the outdoors and in natural history, coupled with an interest in photography, made nature photography a natural second career.
Jim has won numerous show awards for his photography including 8 best of show ribbons and has also had five brochure covers advertising annual art festivals. His images have also been used in corporate annual reports, advertising brochures and Christmas cards.
His landscapes reflect his special love the wilderness. Most of his images are taken in the first few hours of the day, when light qualities are optimum. Jim is a lifelong birder and has completed his largest body of work on diverse bird species.
