Artist statement:

I was born and raised in So. Calif, majored in art and received an AA degree and a Certificate in graphic arts at Cal State Riverside. I started painting at about 15 when I got an oil painting kit for Christmas.  I graduated to acrylics when I entered college.  My main themes have always been nature and animals but i have been experimenting with acrylic abstracts during Covid. In addition to Acrylic painting I also am interested  in Photography.  I always have my camera with me to capture interesting things i see.

I have entered competitions thru the years, winning various awards, the most prestigious was the Doctors Hospital Exhibition -2nd place in 1971.

I have experimented with many mediums such as Oils, Acrylics, Water Colors, Woodcuts, Bead Embroidery, Pottery, Digital Graphics, Woodworking, Paper Mache, Plaster, and mold making, Brick laying, cement work, tile making, Calligraphy, Decopage, and Stained Glass.  I get a kick out of accomplishing things not normally done by women. Life is a classroom and its full of interesting things to learn.

When I retired from Amtrak in 2015, my husband and I moved to a place we have visited for 40 years..Sequim! Here I found OPAA and am excited to be enriched by the creative vibes and new friends.
