Honoring the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, this exhibit features 50 abstract artworks that reference the natural world: celebrating the earth’s beauty and diversity, exploring the science of the natural world, and addressing the environment’s very real vulnerability.

Three members of North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW) are displaying their watercolors during April through June at the Harbor Audiology and Hearing Center in Port Angeles.  The display will run for three months, and then will be moved to Harbor Audiology and Hearing Center in Sequim so the artists can participate in Sequim’s Artwalk on the first Fridays of each month.  Those participating are Jim Gift, Roger Huntley, and Randy Washburn who does digital watercolors.  Randy’s process is a digital painting done on the iPad Pro using the ArtRage app, watercolor and airbrush tools. Painted stroke by stroke exactly as if on paper except that a stylus is used instead of a brush and the iPad screen instead of paper.  Due to hearing tests during appointments, please call the office to arrange a time to view the artwork at (360) 633-3706.

 

NOW members (North Olympic Watercolorists) are displaying their watercolors at the Sequim Library from February to June of 2020.  Participating artists are Lyn Conlan, Roger Huntley, Beverly Beighle, Judy Larimore, Denny Anderson, Rita Heywood, Janet Flatley, John Wilkinson, and Shirley Rudolf.

Jolene Sanborn and Beverly Beighle who are members of NOW (North Olympic Watercolorists and OPAA) are displaying art and original design quilts at the Harbor Audiology and Hearing Center in Sequim through March of 2020. Address is 538 N. 5th Ave, Sequim WA  98382.  Due to hearing tests during appointments, please call the office at (360) 681-7500 to set up a time to view the works.

Shirley Rudolf, local NOW watercolorist and acrylic painter/instructor, is displaying her watercolors from March 5 through end of May at the Wind Rose Cellars in Sequim.  Address is 143 W. Washington, Sequim WA  98382.  Meet the Artist during Sequim’s Artwalk on the first Friday of each month.

March 2020 Artist of them month at the Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel, Port Angeles, WA.will be Nathan Shields. Nathan will be at the gallery on March 14th from 11:00am through 7:30pm for the Second Saturday Art Walk. While drawing and sketching have been his lifelong pastimes, in the last several years he has developed an interest in relief printmaking in wood and linoleum.

I just completed this YouTube video – a behind the scenes look at the process of making the pastel for Quilters.  I would love to share this video with the members, and invite everyone to come to the musical (Feb 21 – March 8) and participate in the raffle.  It would be an extra treat for me to see my artwork go to the home of a fellow artist.  Thank you for sharing this link.  It would be a great boost to have folks give me a thumbs up on YouTube, and subscribe to my channel.

A book signing by Sequim, WA. author and watercolor illustrator will be held at the Harbor Art Gallery 114 North Laurel, Port Angeles, WA. on Saturday, December 21st from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

 Tracy McCallum will be our featured artist for the month of Dec. with his turned wood and his new 2d art – He will be at the gallery during open hours (11am – 5pm) on the 13th of Dec. and during the Second Sat. Art Walk from 5pm – to 7:30pm –

 

 

 

 

Nine local artists/artisans are having a Holiday Art/Craft Faire at Port Angeles’ Holiday Audiology and Hearing Center on Friday, November 22, from 11am to 2pm. Stocking stuffers include Christmas ornaments, miniatures/prints/giclees, small quilts, jewelry, greeting/note cards, and so much more. Location of the event is at 901 E. First Street (southeast corner of Race and First) in Port Angeles. Terms of sales: Cash/Checks Only. Those participating are Shirley Rudolf, Jerri Moore, Lyn Conlan,, Roger Huntley, Jan Butler, Beverly Beighle, John Wilkinson, and Shannon Goose.

New art will be on display starting the day of the Faire which is Friday, November 22 and will run to the end of December. There is an eclectic mix of mediums along with a variety of subjects artists have painted. Please come by to see the amazing works on display.

   Congratulations North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW) are displaying new works at Sequim’s Harbor Audiology and Hearing Center from November to December. In addition to original art hanging, there will be also small prints, miniatures, greeting cards, Christmas ornaments, so on, which would make great stocking stuffers. Antoinette Teglovic  & Sharon Tobin  won ribbons for their artwork at the 2019 Clallam Co. Fair (August 15th-18th), “Red, White & Moo, It’s Our 100th Too.” Antoinette won First-place Premium for Summer Garden, and Third-place Premium for Tole Flowers. Sharon won a Special Award for her acrylic painting called Timber, Best in Division Award for her acrylic painting called Plato, and Best in Show for her pastel piece called Captain Hook. Sharon said, “the pastel ribbon was quite a surprise as it was my very first attempt at pastels.” Congratulations to both artists!

NOW members are displaying their artwork at two locations–First Security Bank (Sequim) through July and August, and Bishop Victorian Hotel (PT) during the month of July. Meet the artists during Sequim’s Artwalk on first Friday of each month (July 5) and also during Port Townsend’s Artwalk first Saturday of each month (July 6).

Congratulations Dale Blankenship !!! Dale just returned from Suzhou, China where his artwork titled “Scooter Ride” (pictured left) was awarded a silver medal in the Zi Gang Bei Jade Exhibition. Dale’s artwork, carved from Siberian nephrite jade,  stands 5” high.

“I’m thrilled that my piece “Blue Bucket” has been accepted as part of the 2019 Rotating Exhibit at the Sequim Civic Center. The exhibit theme is The Beach and runs July 1 through Sept 30th! This is a watercolor painting of my granddaughter as she played in the sand with her blue bucket. Love that smile! Artists Reception will be 5-8pm on Friday July 5, part of the overall First Friday art walk in Sequim, Washington. For those in the area, the civic center lobby is also open for viewing artwork 7:30am to 4pm Monday – Friday.”

Another piece has been added to the accepted entries—-Congrats again!   Title : “Windows to the Sea”.

Looking at Terri Enck’s work is like a trip to the beach. She is so divinely inspired by the ocean that you can see it in everything from her bowls to her sculptures

Harbor Art Gallery, 114 N. Laurel St., Port Angeles celebrates the art of Sallie Radockas the gallery’s Artist of the Month for June. Sallie will be on hand to meet and talk with visitors to the gallery during the Second Saturday Art Walk 5-7:30 p.m. June 8th. Gallery hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

The Olympic Peninsula History Center Show to announce… A SAVE THE DATE for June 2 Art as Artifact Show at the Old Lincoln School on 9th and B Street, Port Angeles.
An Exhibition Booklet featuring artist both past and present who are in the NOHC collection. Some of the local painters of the time are in this publication. The booklet will be available during Our 2019 Member show and again later during our May meeting. You may also find booklets available at the History Center.
The show opens. June 2nd and may be viewed by appointment, during the month of June.

Eva Kozun has a piece in the next Port Angeles Fine Arts Center ‘s next exhibit called P’ART’ticipation Check out their website Pafac.org and visit the show when next you are in town. The Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., Sequim would like to thank everyone who participated in its first juried show.  Congratulations to Bev Beighle (OPAA member) who won the Jurors Choice Award for her watercolor Birds of a Feather, Tina Weitz who won 1st Place for her photo Clara, Susan Noyes Mangold who won 2nd Place for her acrylic Windy Day, and Gail Larson who won 3rd Place for her mixed collage Concentric 2.  Receiving merit awards were Ross Brown, Debbie Harding, Susan Shaw,  Marti Mathis and David Chastain who also received Peoples Choice.  Also displaying artwork in the exhibit were OPAA members: Melissa Doyel, Jim Gift, Allyne Lawson, and Betsy Robins.  The exhibit runs through January 26th.
