Artist Statement
I am constantly in awe of the intricacies of the natural world. Spending time in nature observing, recording, listening, and just being, provides endless ideas for creating my art. The patterns, symmetry, and chaos in nature keep my mind abuzz and inspire me to translate that into my work. Finding ways to create awareness of the little things that are often overlooked or putting a twist on bits and pieces of nature to create something of a different form in my paintings is my way of bringing awareness to the many organisms and ecosystems in which we share this planet.
I am obsessed with color however, symmetry, and calm are essential to me and I work hard to maintain that balance in each painting. The versatility and bold colors of acrylic paint provide endless opportunities for exploring and creating. I also continue to dabble in watercolor and have fun creating whimsical animals.
