Be sure to tell them about the OPAA Art Scholarship!
The Olympic Peninsula Art Association has been awarding scholarships to local graduating students for more than fifty years. Depending upon our fundraising, it may be a small amount –a couple hundred dollars or if we’ve had a good year, the amount may stretch to a thousand or fifteen hundred dollars. Any amount is helpful for a student heading off to art school.
We’ve often raised the scholarship money by selling “minis”– small paintings for a small price. Recently one of our members donated a larger work which was auctioned to raise scholarship funds. We continue to explore ways to raise money to help the next generation of artists.
You can donate to the scholarship fund by sending a check to OPAA, PO Box 1842, Sequim WA 98382. Be sure to mark “scholarship” in the memo line of the check.
And if you are a parent of an aspiring artist, or an art teacher, be sure to tell your student about the scholarship.
